Routeco Update – Statement on COVID-19

Routeco statement regards Covid-19 virus release: 22.10.2020

Dear Customer,

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) remains a global pandemic challenge, Routeco continue to monitor the developing situation throughout the UK and European site local areas and the potential impact to supply chain activities. This situation is of the highest concern to our business and the Management team continue to plan for all eventualities should the situation worsen.

Routeco Limited is strongly committed to the safety of our employees and those of our suppliers & customers while we also strive to anticipate and mitigate potential risk to our customers. We are in continuous communication with our core suppliers regarding the potential impact to the supply of goods. Routeco have a very limited supply of goods that are manufactured in high risk areas. These suppliers generally have a global manufacturing footprint. However, as the situation around the world changes there may on occasions be an impact on supply chain lead times, either due to the manufacturing or distribution network.

Routeco have the majority of staff working from home with the essential workers such as Logistics staff continuing to operate within the CDC and the Service Centres. There remain minimal teams based in the Service Centres sales operations.

This situation remains highly dynamic. We will monitor and react to the advice of local governments and WHO and will continue to keep you updated with any changes or new development.

Please feel free to contact your local Service Centre or account manager if you have any questions, and to cascade this email to the relevant persons in your organization.

Best wishes,

From all at Routeco

26/03/2020 - Routeco Update – Statement on COVID-19.

We wanted to take the opportunity to give you an update on our status in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per our previous communication, our absolute priority is the wellbeing of our associates, our suppliers and our customers. We took immediate action to enable the vast majority of our teams to work from home. Our IT Team have done a fantastic job to get the technology configured to enable remote working, which all means that you will have seen no difference in our ability to meet your needs.

Our Central Distribution Centre is operating well, maintaining very good service. Our stock levels are still very strong with no major concerns around the supply chain at present.

Our external sales and technical teams are all fully available to you, utilising the full Microsoft Teams functionality. Please do make contact with your local Routeco contact if you would like to arrange a meeting with a member of the team.

The Routeco E-commerce solution is proving to be a great option for many. This gives you direct access into our business system, giving product detail, live stock levels, pricing, full account information and allows you to generate quotes and place orders. Please visit our website or speak to your local office for any assistance in getting registered.

One request is that you please communicate with us, if you have closed for deliveries, or are planning to close. This will save us from unnecessary delivery costs, and returns.

Finally we would like to say how proud we are of the way that our teams have responded to the challenges faced in the recent weeks. The determination to continue to provide great service, and support UK manufacturing has been truly inspiring.

Best wishes,

From all at Routeco.

19/03/2020 - Routeco Update – Statement on COVID-19.

Routeco would like to share with you some of the actions we are taking, to ensure business continuity during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Our priority is the health and well-being of our associates, customers and suppliers, whilst also remaining fully operational.

  • Our phone and IT systems are easily configured to work at our offices, and away from the office. This means that you should see no difference in our ability to communicate with you whilst our teams start to work from home, so please use your usual contact numbers.
  • At this time, we are working hard to enable all associates to work from home. We will continue with a skeleton staff at head office, and across all branches, ensuring they follow strict guidelines around social distancing.
  • Our External Teams – both sales and technical, are fully enabled to work from home, and will be looking to have remote meetings with customers.
  • We have implemented a no travel policy, to both our offices and to our customers, unless required for a critical business need.
  • We have introduced a strict no visitor policy at all our offices.
  • For some time, we have been extensive users of Microsoft Teams. This means we can hold remote meetings, share documents and remain fully accessible to all.
  • From 23rd March 2020 we will implement a split shift process in our CDC (Central Distribution Centre), to ensure, where possible, to reduce the risk of any cross contamination. Our CDC operational hours will be 7am-6pm Monday-Friday. Cut-off for next working day deliveries will be 4pm.
  • Our supply chain team are working closely with all our supplier partners, to ensure we can meet customer requirements. Currently, we are well stocked and have no immediate concerns.
  • Our carrier partners have contingency plans in place for the event that they are affected directly by Covid19.
  • Couriers will still be allowed to collect or deliver but our staff have been asked to avoid physical contact as much as possible and request the driver stays within their own vehicle other than providing access to goods.
  • Clearly this is a dynamic situation, which we will continue to update you with in the coming days and weeks.
  • As a final point please also remember, we have a fully functioning E-business solution, which enables you, through a secure account, to place orders, create quotes, see live-stock availability information and gives full access to your credit account information. If you wish to gain access to this, please log into our website, and follow the link, or speak to your local Routeco contact.

The Routeco leadership team will continue to meet daily, to review any necessary changes to our approach, and we will communicate with you at the point of any significant changes.

We remain determined to continue to give you the very best service and support. If at any time you wish to contact us, please do get in touch with your local Routeco contact or with us directly. Most of all we wish everyone stays safe and healthy.

If you have any questions please get in touch here.
